On Sunday, May 19th, Jericho Beach was be the site of a collaborative cleanup effort, bringing together the Art for Earth Environmental Art Youth Club and the Rotary Interact Club. This unique event, set to begin at 1:00 PM on that day, promised not only to clean the beach but also to transform the collected trash into inspiring art installations.
The initiative, spearheaded by the two clubs, aims to address the pressing issue of beach pollution while fostering community spirit and creativity. Volunteers from the high and elementary schools across Vancouver West are encouraged to participate and help make a difference in their community.
One of the most exciting aspects of the event is the transformation of collected trash into art. After the cleanup, volunteers and artists from Art for Earth will gather to sort the collected materials and begin creating their pieces, which are sea creatures. These art installations will be displayed at Jericho Beach, bringing attention to the pollution problem in a visually compelling, and stunning way.
The Art for Earth and Rotary Interact clubs’ contributions to the community at Jericho Beach helps create a cleaner environment and, even incorporates the transformation of trash into art. Together, we can create a more sustainable future.
